Etsy takes a little from every order: listing, transaction and payment fees, plus up to 15% more when the sale came from one of Etsy's ads. On your own shop, each sale only pays the card fee.

Who you'll work with

Hi, I'm Katherine.

I'm a web developer and designer in Brisbane. I used to be a concept designer for Samsung at Cheil Worldwide in London.

I'm also a mum of two. After 8 years at home with my kids and 8 years as a teacher aide, I started BlueSky Sites to give back to my community: good websites at a fraction of agency prices.

I build every site myself, and I run my own handmade and online shops too, so I know what makers and small businesses need.

I use AI tools to design and build quickly, and I check every page myself. A friendly AI assistant helps me answer emails. It always tells you it's an AI, and never pretends to be me.

Questions people ask.

Is it really free to look?

Yes. Version 1 (for Etsy sellers) and your first draft (for local businesses) cost nothing, with no card and no account. You only get a quote if you want to go ahead.

How much does it cost?

Every business is different, so Katherine sends one clear, written quote after you've seen your design. If you choose Shopify, you pay Shopify's monthly plan directly to Shopify. Nothing is charged until you say go.

Do I have to leave Etsy?

No. Most makers keep Etsy running. Your own shop is where your regulars and followers can buy without Etsy's fees.

How long does it take?

Etsy sellers usually get Version 1 within 2 working days. Local businesses see a first draft in about 2 minutes. The build time for your finished site is in your quote.

Can I change things myself later?

On Shopify, yes: products, prices, photos and pages, from your phone, with a simple guide from us. Prefer not to? Email Katherine in plain English and she makes the change.

Who owns the website?

You do: your web address, your products and your customer list.

Do you only work in Brisbane?

Katherine is in Brisbane and builds for makers and businesses across Australia and overseas. Everything happens by email and your private review page.
