Privacy policy

BlueSky Sites (blueskysites.com.au) is run by Katherine from Brisbane, Queensland, as part of the Pick by Kathy business. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- What you give us: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), business name, suburb, trade, the services you tick, and any photos, logo or details you send for your website.
- From our Facebook and Instagram forms: when you fill in our "Free Google Maps check" form, Meta passes us the answers you submit (usually your name, email, business name, suburb and trade).
- When you pay: Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your card number; we receive your name, email, phone and what you bought.
- How you use the site: pages visited, taps and scrolling, device and browser type, and roughly where you are (city or country), through cookies and similar tools from Meta (Pixel) and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records anonymised sessions to help us fix confusing parts of the site; it masks what you type.
How we use it
- To design your website draft and run your free Google Maps check, and email you the result.
- To build, host and support your website if you order one, and to send reminders such as domain renewals.
- To reply to your emails. Some replies are written by our AI assistant on Katherine's behalf and say so; you can always ask for a person.
- To understand which ads and pages work, so we spend less showing ads to people they don't suit.
We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Who helps us
We use a small number of services to run BlueSky Sites. They only get what they need for their part of the job:
- Hostinger hosts our website, your website and our email.
- Anthropic (Claude) and Ideogram help research, write and design website drafts and Maps checks from the details you give us.
- Google provides public Google Maps and search information used in the Maps check.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram) runs our ads and lead forms; Microsoft Clarity provides site analytics.
Some of these services store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose services with recognised security and privacy practices.
How long we keep it
Website drafts are held for 7 days unless you order. Enquiry details (like your email and business name) are kept only as long as we need them to follow up on your enquiry. If you become a customer, we keep your business and order details for as long as we look after your site, and records needed for tax for as long as the law requires.
Your choices
- Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to stop emailing you.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser, or adjust ad settings in your Facebook and Instagram account.
